馬林魚明星二壘手高登（Dee Gordon）在昨天傳出禁藥檢驗未過，遭到大聯盟禁賽80場，他透過聲明稿表示，是在不知情下用藥，「但我犯了錯，也接受這樣的結果。」球團表達支持，但也有聲音認為他絕不可能不知情。
高登為去年的國聯打擊、安打、盜壘三冠王，今年1月剛與馬林魚完成5年5000萬美元延長合約，就在昨天賽後收到通知，驗出使用睪固酮、氯睾酮兩項禁藥。
馬林魚總教練馬丁利（Don Mattingly）曾在道奇與高登共事4季，來到馬林魚再續師徒緣份，他說：「老實說，他就像是我的孩子，因為我們認識很久了。」
媒體形容高登，都說他是一位有禮貌的年輕球員，不會擺架子，對初次見面的日本記者都能侃侃而談，對他涉入禁藥都感到相當震驚。然而也有其他聲音傳出，主要在於他是在兩項禁藥成分沒能通過檢驗，而非一項。
高登的一位友人主動打給「今日美國」爆料，「他被逮到使用禁藥，但那又怎樣？比起繼續將棒球生涯耗在小聯盟，現在的狀況還更好，他的形象受損，但銀行裡多了5000萬美元，他可以好好照顧家人和接下來的人生。」
面對這位友人的爆料，「今日美國」坦言，「他是對的，儘管冒著80場禁賽風險，但對高登來說還是划算。」他的本季薪資為330萬美元，禁賽80場將讓他損失165萬美元薪水，「但如果他沒有作弊，或許他一輩子都會待在小聯盟，一輩子也賺不到165萬美元。」
